Welcome to our VIP Day!
Third graders were very excited today to have a giant wave of very important people arrive in their classroom today! Students had prepared for this fun visit by creating pictures or themselves, with fun facts about themselves, along with a colorful card attached to a welcome treat! Visitors that arrived before lunch watched us finish up some of our regular routine and watched a slide show of classroom activity photos on the white board. After lunch we showed some of the Robin Hood movie for indoor recess before starting our afternoon fun! Students interviewed their VIP with a few questions that would give them a chance to learn something new about them before introducing them to the class. Next, some of our VIP's shared a memory about school from when they attended, and before we ended our time, everyone tried a special activity called Pumpkins for Sale. This activity gave visitors a chance to see a small scale STEM activity in action similar to the ones we use in the afternoon portions of our class. We are very thankful that our VIP's could come share some time with us and we hope you enjoyed us too!

My VIP was my mom. We had a lot of fun. When my mom was about 4 or 5 my mammaw was making a cake. My mom, uncle, and aunt were fighting. My mammaw went in the living room and tried saying their names, but it came out like Makashan and my mom jumped on the couch and grabbed my mammaw's cheeks and said, "Think Mommy Think!" When my mom was little she would fall asleep in the care on the floor on the way back from church. Once my Mammaw picked my mom up from the car and she said, "Mommy you have the prettiest dumpling." I have one more story about me when I was 3 or 4. My family had went to Essenhaus and we had got all full so we took our pies home. My dad put them in the frige and then went to take a nap. My mammaw saat on the chair. I went to get my pie and I at it and went back and got a cherry pie. It was my dad's. My dad came out and said, "Marissa, why are you eating my pie." I said it was my pie, but he said to give him my pie. I said that was my pie too. He asked Mammaw if she knew I was eating his pie and she said yes. I hope you like my stories.
